Saxon Switzerland

Saxon Switzerland
Saxon Switzerland is the German part of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains in Saxony. The landscape, characterized by bizarre rock formations, is located southeast of Dresden on both sides of the Elbe River in the district of Saxon Switzerland - Eastern Ore Mountains.
Saxon Switzerland is divided into the Front Saxon Switzerland and the Rear Saxon Switzerland. The Front Saxon Switzerland includes the entire left-elbe area with the flat areas and the table mountains such as the Pfaffenstein or the Königstein as well as the right-elbe Lilienstein, the area around the "Bastei" and the Brand. Rear Saxon Switzerland includes the large forest and rocky areas on the right side of the Elbe east of Bad Schandau and south of the Sebnitz Valley to the Czech border.
